One Short Film LIFTs Another
Following on from the work on The Five Wives and Lives of Melvyn Pfferberg, the Producer, Jess Clark invited me to the LIFT (Ladies in Film and Television) – UK Facebook group. I saw a post by Rubikah Shah looking for a designer to create some artwork for her new doc short screening at Sundance 2017.
Thought that sounded a great opportunity so I emailed Colin at Smoking Bear Productions like she suggested sharing some examples of work and the rest is history.
From Short Film to Feature Length Documentary
Rubikah Shah directed this short film – which she later made into a feature length documentary – about Temporary Hoarding and Rock Against Racism.
Harking Back to Temporary Hoarding Zines
She had this amazing photo by Syd Shelton and some stills from the riots. I layered these together to create a poster that harked back to the punk zines of the time. From there, I also created A5 size promo cards and business cards.
From Cannes to Everyman Lockdown
So proud to be involved in such an amazing story that was told. Of course when it premiered at The Everyman via the Internet for Lockdown home viewing, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The message was perfectly appropriate and delivered at a time that made sense.
